One dead in morning house fire

ALBANY, Ga. — One person has been killed in a house fire in the Rawson Circle area, fire officials confirm.

Fire Chief James Carswell says that around 9 a.m. Sunday, units responded to the 1200 block of North McKinley Street to a home at on the 700 block of 4th Avenue in reference to a residential house fire.

When they arrived, they found the home partially engulfed. When firefighters got to the bedroom of the house, they found one 66-year-old female deceased lying in bed, he says.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time but firefighters believe the fire started in the bedroom.

They cause cancer not only to the smoker but those around. I agree, let's completely outlaw cigarettes.

I don't think it was that particular home, but the proposed home is a few blocks away.
